Section 3: Private life « »
Bosch’s private life, his passion for field observation and his patronage are displayed in the third section.
In addition to his professional and technical obligations, Bosch dedicated his spare time to various scientific hobbies. His crystal and insect collections had expanded to such an extent that he bought a house next to his villa, which served as the "House of Collections".
An idealized reconstruction of his Heidelberg study equipped with items from his crystal and beetle collections, microscopes and further requisites allow a view into the very private sphere of this great industrial chemist.
In Heidelberg, the name of Carl Bosch is above all linked with the Heidelberg Zoological garden, of which he was a co-founder and a constant patron.
