Section 4: Nobel laureate

This section documents the honours and awards Bosch received for his technical and scientific achievements, especially the Nobel Prize in chemistry, 1931.
In contrast to the previously applied criteria of awarding the Nobel Prize for scientific discoveries, Bosch received this honour for successfully turning a laboratory procedure into a large-scale industrial process. Fritz Haber had already been awarded the Nobel Prize in chemistry (1918) for the development of the ammonia synthesis on laboratory scale.
The honours Bosch received from various universities are a result of his sponsoring strategy, which was the promotion of science and research, this commitment led to his presidency of the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gesellschaft.
