Section 6: High-pressure workshop

The "high-pressure workshop" equipped with a lathe, tools, fittings and high-pressure pipes, illustrates the new dimensions with which the industrial technician was confronted in those days.
Additional topics displayed here include: the knowledge of materials, safety standards at work, the competent process control, the introduction of the profession of chemical technician, and the devastating explosion of the Oppau plant in 1921.
The reconstruction of this workshop refers to Bosch’s experience and interest in process technology. Bosch impersonated the new understanding of a "skilled workman": the 20th century chemical process engineer.
